PROGRAMS > University Relations
Women & Hi Tech's University Relations program actively
works with Indiana universities and colleges to bring professional
women and young women together as a resource for career and education
planning
The Women & Hi Tech College Initiative, Women in IT, was launched in the spring of 2002.
The College Initiative is organized on Indiana college and university campuses, with the goal
of introducing young women, and those considering a career change, to careers in technology
through presentations and networking with professionals either in the field or heavily
involved in technology-related careers. Each event reflects the goals of the schools
involved and the individual campus culture and approach to reaching young women and other
professionals. The opportunity to meet, learn, and network with others in your field of interest is
the primary goal of every event on every campus.
Women & Hi Tech helps to create the momentum, donate the time and cost of the
electronic ads, assist in coordinating the event with your representative or committee,
confirm speakers from our speakers bureau or business & industry, and make media contacts.
The flexible format leaves many of the planning decisions to the co-hosts on the university
or college campus. The costs are minimal, and are borne by the host school or campus, but Women & Hi
Tech may be able to help identify additional co-hosts and potential funding partners.
