Women and Hi Tech is calling for nominations for the 2010 Leading Light Awards!

Please join Women and Hi Tech in honoring women of achievement in science, education, and technology. This is your chance to nominate those women who have set an example for others in pursuing their chosen career.

The Leading Light Awards offer great opportunities for publicity for nominees, winners, and finalists alike.  After all of the awards have been handed out, more than 400 of Indiana's most influential business and technology leaders will become familiar with Indiana's amazing women through pre-event publicity and recognition at the Leading Light Awards Gala.

The 2010 Leading Light Awards Categories

You are invited to nominate Indiana's business, academic, government, and community female leaders in recognition of their achievements in the following categories:

  1. Outstanding Educator Award in Science, Technology or Engineering

    The nominee must be a current educator at a K-12 school or an institution of higher learning in the State of Indiana and must have a primary academic focus in science, technology, or engineering. Public, private, and parochial school nominees will be considered. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in teaching innovative programs that promote student interest, success, and leadership in science, technology, or engineering. Special consideration will be given to those who have implemented programs to teach these disciplines in a hands-on environment.
  2. Outstanding Contribution to the Manufacturing Industry & Distribution Transportation Logistics Click Here!
    The nominee must have positively affected and provided significant value to the manufacturing, advanced manufacturing or distribution transportation logistics industry. The winner will have made a quantifiable contribution in areas that may include but are not limited to research & development, technical support, technical writing, system development, and system support.
  3. Distinguished Use of Technology in Healthcare Life Science

    The nominee must have promoted the innovative use of technology in health care/life science delivery. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in the creation and delivery of business value through the use of technology.
  4. Distinguished Use of Technology in a Non-Profit or Government Organization Click Here!
    The nominee must have promoted the use of technology in a non-profit or government organization. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in creation and delivery of business value through technology.
  5. Risk-Taker Award

    The nominee must have demonstrated courage in promoting purposeful change for which success was not guaranteed. The winner will have successfully pursued innovation, whether in pursuit of programs, projects, initiatives, technology adoption/innovation in the public, private, or non-profit sectors.
  6. Outstanding Dedication to Mentoring & Growth of Women in Science or Technology

    The individual (male or female) or organization must have an Indiana-based headquarters, subsidiary, or division, and have concentrated their mentoring efforts in Indiana. Nominees may be a for-profit or not-for-profit entity. The winner will have committed to the encouragement and advancement of women in the science or technology fields and will have demonstrated success in career, leadership, and education opportunities for women.
  7. Ice Miller Undergraduate Student Scholarship or Graduate Student Scholarship
