Outstanding Educator Award in Science, Technology or Engineering
To qualify for this individual award, the nominee must be a current educator at a K-12 school or an institution of higher learning in the State of Indiana and must have a primary academic focus in science, technology or engineering. Public, private and parochial school nominees will be considered. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in teaching innovative programs that promote student interest, success, and leadership in science, technology or engineering coursework. Special consideration will be given to those educators who have implemented programs in order to teach these disciplines in a hands-on environment.
Outstanding Contribution to the Manufacturing Industry
To qualify for this award, the nominee must have positively affected and provided significant value to the manufacturing or advanced manufacturing industry. The winner will have made a quantifiable contribution in areas that may include but are not limited to research and development, technical support, technical writing, system development and systems support.
Outstanding Contribution to Health, Life Science, Physical Science or Ag-Science
To qualify for this award, the nominee must have directly affected a Health, Life Science, Physical Science or Ag-Science organization. The winner will have made a quantifiable contribution in areas that may include but are not limited to research and development for a company product, technical support, technical writing, systems development and systems support.
Risk-Taker Award, Promoting Technology Adoption or Innovation
To qualify for this individual award, the nominee must have demonstrated courage in promoting purposeful change for which success was not guaranteed. The winner will have successfully pursued innovation, whether in pursuit of programs, projects, initiatives, technology adoption/innovation in the public, private, or non-profit sectors.
Distinguished Use of Technology in a Non-Profit or Government Organization
To qualify for this individual award, the nominee must have promoted the use of technology in a non-profit or government organization. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in creation and delivery of business value through the use of technology.
Distinguished Use of Technology in a Service Industry
To qualify for this individual award, the nominee must be an individual who provides services in the private sector. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in creation and delivery of business value through the use of technology. Examples of service industries include utility companies, software development organizations, financial services companies, insurance companies, consulting companies, and law firms.
Outstanding Dedication to Mentoring & Growth of Women in Science or Technology
To qualify for this award, the individual (male or female) or organization must have an Indiana-based headquarters, subsidiary, or division, and have concentrated their mentoring efforts in Indiana . Nominees may be a for-profit or not-for-profit entity. The winner will have committed to the encouragement and advancement of women in the science or technology fields and will have demonstrated success in career, leadership, and education opportunities for women.
Distinguished Use of Technology in Healthcare Delivery
To qualify for this individual award, the nominee must have promoted the innovative use of technology in health care delivery. The winner will have demonstrated excellence in the creation and delivery of business value through the use of technology.
Ice Miller Undergraduate Student Scholarship
To qualify for this scholarship, the nominee must be a female undergraduate student enrolled in a science, technology or engineering graduate studies program at an accredited Indiana institution. The winner will have demonstrated her commitment to the advancement of technology through her studies or extracurricular activities, and her intent to employ these skills within the state of Indiana.
Ice Miller Graduate Student Scholarship
To qualify for this scholarship, the nominee must be a female graduate student enrolled in a science, technology or engineering graduate studies program at an accredited Indiana institution. The winner will have demonstrated her commitment to the advancement of technology through her studies or extracurricular activities, and her intent to employ these skills within the state of Indiana.
Barnes & Thornburg Hi Tech Woman of the Year Award
Barnes & Thornburg will present a special award to the High Tech Woman of the Year. The winner will have demonstrated outstanding commitment to not only her own career in high technology, but also to shaping technology policy and increasing women's career opportunities in science and technology. The judges will be comprised of lawyers from Barnes & Thornburg's Business and Technology Group, in consultation with industry experts.
